Matt Salvage (SoCo Music Project) & Voice FM presenter Ryan Galpin
Just days before Ryan Carter announces who will be the first No.1 in Voice FM’s South Coast Music Chart, Southampton’s SoCo Music Project has kindly donated a £100 voucher towards studio time in their Hightown Studios, in Thornhill.
“We’ve been supporting Southampton’s artists since 2008 and think the South Coast Music Chart is an excellent idea,” said chief executive Matt Salvage.
“The voucher will go towards recording time in the studio (below), and make it easier for an artist to pay for a day’s session, with the aim of getting a decent demo at the end of the day.”
“Our technicians are really professional, work with many acts, plus also help people gain experience in the studio,” he added, “so if it is your first time in the studio, or your fifth you will come away with something positive to help in the next steps of your music career.”
The voucher will be awarded to the act that gathers the most individual votes over a four week period.
“It is fantastic that the SoCo Music Project is working in partnership with Voice FM and especially on the South Coast Music Chart,” said show host Ryan Galpin.
“We’ve featured many tracks from their ‘Sounds of Southampton’ compilation albums, the quality of recordings is excellent, so this voucher will be a definite boost to the act that gets the most votes.”
The first No.1 will be announced this Sunday, 15th January at 5pm.
